In cornetist King Oliver, who had played next to Johnny Dodds with Kid Ory’s group, sent to New Orleans for both Johnny and Baby to join his new Creole Jazz Band which was then based in San forseyracrurasabganorafactenttap.coinfo following year the group relocated to Chicago where they were based at the Lincoln Gardens, soon adding Louis Armstrong on second cornet.

5. This is a beautiful factory sealed copy of this original lp (breathe hole on front cover). There is a clean punch hole in the top left of the cover. Other than that, this album is near flawless. The seal is complete, and there are no breaks in the very clean shrink.

Johnny Dodds (/ ˈ d ɒ t s /; April 12, – August 8, ) was an American jazz clarinetist and alto saxophonist based in New Orleans, best known for his recordings under his own name and with bands such as those of Joe "King" Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Lovie Austin and Louis Armstrong. Dodds (pronounced dots) [citation needed] was the older brother of the drummer Warren "Baby" Dodds.

8. The music on this LP (which has been reissued on CD by the Classics label) features clarinetist Johnny Dodds in prime form. Not all of the personnel listings are accurate; Joe Clark is on alto with the New Orleans Wanderers and Bootblacks while trombonist Honore Dutrey and drummer Baby Dodds are with the Chicago Footwarmers and the Dixieland Thumpers rather than Kid Ory and Jimmy Bertrand.
